Latisse® in Tampa and St. Petersburg, FL
Let’s face it — flirtatiously batting your eyelashes is beyond impossible if you have thin eyelashes. The effect just isn’t the same. Mascara and false eyelashes offer only minimal improvements and far greater problems than solutions. Dr. Dean G. Davis, a dual-board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and otolaryngologist, offers Latisse® as a safe and effective eyelash treatment for those living in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and surrounding areas in Florida.
What Is Latisse®?
If you suffer from poorly defined or short lashes, Dr. Davis may suggest Latisse® to correct this issue. Thick mascara and fake eyelashes are but a temporary solution to this long-term problem. These products also don’t provide the necessary or preferred results that the patient may desire. Latisse®, however, has been clinically proven to be effective in just a few weeks, and offer a long-lasting solution to the problem of short or poorly defined lashes.
Benefits of Latisse®
Aside from the obvious benefits of longer and better-defined lashes, there are a number of benefits to Latisse®, including:
- It can be applied at home
- Your lashes may look darker with consistent use
- The results within a few weeks and increase with consistent use
What Is the Procedure for Latisse®?
Before you begin any Latisse® regimen, you will need to have a consultation with Dr. Davis to discuss both the benefits and side effects. After Dr. Davis determines that Latisse® is right for you, he will put on the first application so you can see how to do it at home. Before you apply Latisse®, you must start with a clean face — no makeup, lotion, and/or skin care products should be on your face. After you wash your face, dry it with a soft clean cloth — and, as you place a single drop of Latisse® onto the application brush, hold the applicator brush horizontally and apply the Latisse® starting from the inside of the upper eyelid. Move it slowly, using the same technique that you would use to apply liquid eyeliner. Use a soft cloth or a cotton ball to get rid of the excess Latisse® gently. Many patients find that Latisse® is a perfect addition to their night-time routine — a shower, facial scrub, and an application of Latisse® before bedtime is a standard for many patients that are prescribed Latisse® to fix their eyelash issues.
At Home Care
Even though Latisse® is a prescription product, you can still use it at home. However, you must follow the directions that are listed on the outside of the box. Do not apply Latisse® to the lower eyelid or lashes. Do not get Latisse® in your eyes. Following these simple instructions will make Latisse® effective and easy to use. Regardless, Dr. Davis can still answer any Latisse®-related questions, concerns or problems.
How Much Does Latisse® Cost?
Latisse® improves the overall health and appearance of your eyelashes. Treatment is individualized per patient so costs will vary. Because Latisse® is considered an elective option, your insurance carrier will not cover the costs, but we offer financing through CareCredit®. You can pay by major credit card, personal check, or cash.
Is Latisse® Right for Me?
You are a good candidate for a Latisse® treatment if you find yourself spending hundreds of dollars a month making your lashes look fuller or thicker. Latisse® is specifically designed to make lashes grow from the inside out, and can completely change the way your lashes look. With Latisse®, there’s no need to take the product off and reapply it; all you have to do is apply it to your upper lashes once a day. Just remember: before you go to bed, apply Latisse®!
What to Expect During Your Consultation
During your initial consultation, Dr. Davis checks your medical record for a history of eye conditions and to assess your overall health. He also addresses all of your questions and concerns to your satisfaction. Should Dr. Davis determine that Latisse® is right for you, he will advise you on the proper application, as well as any precautions you must take, to apply the product.
