What is Daxxify®?
Daxxify® is an injectable treatment that is used to diminish the appearance of frown lines. As a neurotoxin product made with the botulinum toxin, Daxxify® works similarly to many other injectables. Upon injection, the Daxxify® formula will force the facial muscles to relax, causing frown lines to fade away.
Daxxify® can last up to twice as long as other frown line treatments. This is thanks to a unique formulation that uses a novel peptide to stabilize the botulinum toxin ingredient. Unfortunately, other leading products like Botox®, Xeomin® or Dysport® offer limited results, with most patients noticing that they only last 3 to 4 months.
All botulinum toxin injectables require a stabilizing ingredient, but most contain human or animal byproducts, which are not as effective. The novel peptide in the Daxxify® formula prolongs the efficacy of the botulinum toxin to produce longer-lasting results.
What is the Daxxify® Treatment Like?
The Daxxify® treatment is quite tolerable, but we often apply a topical anesthetic to the skin before administering injections. During the injection process, we will make multiple injections into and around the treatment area. The exact number of injections will depend on your specific treatment plan. The injection process takes only a few minutes, which means that the full Daxxify® treatment can be performed in under 30 minutes.
What is Recovery Like Following Daxxify®?
There is no downtime after the Daxxify® treatment, but you may notice some minor swelling or redness around the treatment areas. These effects typically fade within a day or two. Still, you should be able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after your appointment.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Daxxify®?
The results from Daxxify® will gradually become visible as botulinum toxin takes effect in the body. You can expect to notice the full results of treatment within a week, although you may notice some results earlier. Daxxify® produces results that last approximately 6 months on average, although some patients report that their results last as long as 9 months. These results can be easily prolonged with maintenance treatments.
