For added comfort, your injector can apply a local anesthetic, lidocaine cream, to the treated skin if needed. Your injector then uses a very fine needle to carefully inject BOTOX into the targeted muscles. The number of injections depends on the individual patient and the degree and number of fine lines and wrinkles. The results of this in-office treatment typically last 3 to 4 months. After this, we recommend visiting our MedSpa for maintenance treatments to maintain your youthful look.
During the preparation process, you should inform the team if you have received any injections over the previous 4 months. You will also be advised to avoid certain medications, such as aspirin, Advil, non-steroidals, supplements, and blood thinners 1 to 2 weeks before treatment to decrease possible bruising in the treated areas. Many patients benefit from starting an Arnica and Bromelain anti-bruising regimen, which is available in our office.
