Brow Lift
in Tampa and St. Petersburg, FL

Do you think you look tired? Or are you asked or told you look sad or upset? Many patients come to us complaining they’ve been told by friends or colleagues they look sad, upset or even angry. This is frustrating because their facial appearance does not reflect how they are feeling. A brow lift by dual-board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and otolaryngologist, Dr. Dean G. Davis, has helped many men and women in Florida including Tampa, St. Petersburg and the surrounding towns improve their brow areas, so they look and feel better.

Often times what is causing your fatigued or angry expression is a droopy brow. Other age-related changes that you or your friends may be noticing include forehead creases and deep furrowed wrinkles between the eyebrows. These changes could have been caused by age-related changes, genetics, sun damage or a collection of other factors. The skin begins to lose its elasticity, resulting in wrinkles and a drooping brow. A forehead lift or brow lift subtlety lifts the brow to refresh your look, resulting in a more alert, youthful and brighter appearance. The procedure can also minimize the creases or horizontal wrinkle lines across the forehead and the fine lines above the brow that develop from repetitive muscle movement to keep the brow elevated.

A brow lift is often used in combination with an eyelid lift, to reduce the extra sagging skin on the upper eyelids that develop over time.

Are You a Good Candidate?

A brow lift is generally done between ages 40 and 65, yet depending on the individual’s needs, may be necessary at a much younger age. During the consultation, Dr. Davis speaks to you, looks at your medical history and evaluates your facial proportions. If your expectations are realistic for the outcome of the surgery, you should be a good candidate for the procedure.

Which Brow Lift is Right for Me?

During the consultation, Dr. Davis assesses your aesthetic needs and facial structure and selects the proper brow lift technique. According to a few factors including your age, your skin’s condition, the distance between your brow and hairline and the amount of skin that must be reduced, he will select a Trichophytic Open, Coronal, or Endoscopic brow lift.

Types of Brow Lift

Coronal Lift

A coronal lift is the single most common type of brow lift and involves making a single incision just behind the brow line near the ear. Also referred to as an open brow lift, this procedure may lift the hairline slightly and is a great option for those with a smaller forehead.

Trichophytic Lift

Patients that have a larger forehead or higher hairline may see the best results with a Trichophytic brow lift. After using general anesthesia, Dr. Davis makes an incision of about four centimeters across the hairline. The benefit of a Trichophytic lift is the fact that it will reduce wrinkles as well as lift the brows.

Endoscopic Lift

An endoscopic brow lift is one of the most recent options and utilizes a small camera to inspect the soft tissue just under the skin. Instead of cutting the skin from ear to ear, small incisions are made just above the hairline. For our patients, an endoscopic lift offers a shorter healing time and much more natural appearance.

Brow Lift Recovery

After the procedure, some patients may feel some tenderness around the incision lines or suffer from a headache for a day or two. These symptoms can be controlled with prescription medications.

You will need ten days to two weeks of “down-time,” and six weeks of reduced physical activity to allow the forehead and brow to heal properly.
