What Is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a facial filler that fills in fine lines and wrinkles by plumping the skin. It also replaces lost facial volume that happens due to aging or sun exposure. Radiesse® can even help improve problems such as nasolabial folds, crow’s feet, sagging cheeks and under eye bags.

How are Radiesse® Injections Administered?

Just prior to a Radiesse® injection, the team cleans your skin with an antiseptic solution. Next, a very fine needle will be used to deliver the Radiesse® gel just underneath the skin’s surface where folds or wrinkles are present. This gel contains lidocaine, which is a numbing agent that helps reduce any discomfort you may feel during and after your treatment.

Once injected, the gel goes to work supporting tissues underneath the treated area, so they are lifted and no longer sag. Radiesse® may be injected into more than one area in your face, depending on the results you desire. After making your injections, the team will provide you with a hand mirror so you can see the results for yourself. You’ll be surprised to notice what a remarkable difference Radiesse® can immediately make in the way you look and feel.

Preparing for Radiesse® Injections

To minimize complications, you should stop taking any medications that thin your blood a few days before your procedure. This includes over-the-counter medications that contain ibuprofen. Before stopping any prescription medications, please consult with your primary care physician to be sure it is safe for you to do so.

You should also avoid drinking alcohol and smoking for a few days before your appointment. The team may have other instructions for you to follow, and will provide them to you at the time of your consultation if needed.

Radiesse® Recovery

There is very little recovery or downtime required after having a Radiesse® injection. You can feel free to resume normal activities immediately afterward.

Although no downtime is required, some of our patients nonetheless elect to take a half day off from work to recover fully. This is because some light swelling and bruising is typical after an injection. If you are worried that others may notice you have had a procedure, or are self-conscious about bruising or swelling on your face, you may want to plan some time off as well.

For this reason, we offer a number of affordable payment options to make paying for Radiesse® as convenient as possible. We accept most major credit cards, cash, and also partner with CareCredit®, which offers a variety of interest-free financing options.
