Laser Resurfacing
in Tampa and St. Petersburg, FL

Professional anti-aging treatments have come a long way over recent years. No longer are you limited to surgery to restore a healthier and younger appearance. Davis Facial Plastic Surgery specializes in non-invasive and minimally-invasive treatments to give the men and women of Florida including Tampa, St. Petersburg and the surrounding towns safe and effective solutions to fight the aging process.

Are You Ready to Restore Your Skin to an Age-Defying Beauty Level?

One of the most important substances when it comes to the appearance of our skin is collagen. Collagen is a key protein that keeps skin tight and elastic, but your body will slowly begin to produce less and less collagen as you age. Variables such as pollution in the air and UV rays will also alter the color of your skin and prematurely create lines and wrinkles.

If you have noticed that your skin is no longer as smooth and healthy as you would like it to be, then it may be time to consider a cutting-edge and highly effective treatment known as laser skin resurfacing.

What is Laser Resurfacing?

Our laser resurfacing treatment has been designed to help patients that would like to look younger with perfectly-toned and wrinkle-free skin. The treatment is often found to be the most effective option for resurfacing facial skin that has been blemished by UV rays, acne, or almost any other form of damage.

Laser resurfacing delivers intense heat to the treatment area to vaporize skin cells and stimulate a collagen production response. Pearl® laser is most commonly used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation irregularities, acne scarring, and poor skin texture.

Why Consider Laser Resurfacing Treatment?

There may be a number of options available to those that would like to improve the appearance of their skin, but few have as many benefits as laser resurfacing. We prefer this system because it has delivered precise, safe, and reliable results in countless patients.

Are you looking for a safe, long lasting, and effective treatment for:

  • Texture irregularities
  • Fines wrinkles and lines
  • Damage from the sun and acne scars
  • Lesions and pigmentation issues

Laser Resurfacing Procedure

Lasers are now being used for a wide variety of treatments within the medical community, and this includes cosmetic and aesthetic treatments. Our staff uses a specialized device to deliver the high-energy laser to the surface of the skin in areas with wrinkles, lesions, and other blemishes. Instead of damaging the lower layers of the skin, these lasers only improve the very top layer of the dermis while everything below remains undamaged. The lower layers are then heated which produces a unique side effect. This heating stimulates the skin which will begin the process of creating new collagen fibers. As the new skin grows back, it is generally much younger looking.

Immediately following this treatment, we will apply a moist dressing to the area in order to speed up the healing process. Every patient should know that the healing and recovery process is exceptionally important. All instructions given to you by Our staff should be carefully followed so that you can enjoy the absolute best results.

With particularly problematic blemishes, our team may suggest multiple laser resurfacing treatments. This treatment is very successful in a high percentage of patients, but patients will need to keep up with their daily skin care habits in order to maintain the results. This includes using the proper products and protection against pollutants and sun damage as well as cleaning your face daily once it has healed.

Is Laser Skin Resurfacing Right For You?

Because the intensity of the laser can be adjusted for treatment, laser skin resurfacing is easily tailored to every patient’s unique needs and skin type. That being said, we suggest that anyone considering this treatment schedules a consultation with the team to see if laser resurfacing is right for them.

How Long Will My Treatment Take?

Depending on what types of blemishes we are treating, you can expect the resurfacing to take around 30 minutes.

What Does The Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Feel Like?

During the treatment, most patients state that they feel a warm and sharp feeling followed by a tightening of the skin. After the procedure, you may feel as if you have a slight sunburn on your face with increased sensitivity. If needed, our team can provide you with cooling anesthetic ointments to further reduce your discomfort.

How Do I Care For My Skin After The Treatment?

Most of our patients will want to stay indoors for at least a few days after the treatment to allow their skin to heal. They should also continue applying the topical ointment if they feel any discomfort.
